The recent nuclear agreement between the P5+1 and Iran had raised great expectations about the prospects of Iran returning to the global oil and gas markets. Countries and companies from around the world are already impatiently lining up to get a share of the pie. However, Iran’s current energy supply capacities are far from adequate to serve international markets in the short term, both with respect to the domestic infrastructure and the extent of current pipelines to ship gas abroad.
