The Political risk forecast for global oil exports (PRIX) index, a composite index which forecasts the effect of political developments on exports from major petroleum-producing countries run by the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs, was updated today for the third quarter of 2016. The Index measures 47.66, slightly up from 46.60 in the previous quarter. This may contribute to extending the rise in the oil price during the coming months, though this also depends on how other factors such as shale oil and global economic growth work out. Sijbren de Jong acts as a country analyst for the PRIX index.
